A complete nightmare! I knew the Godwin family for some years but boy oh boy when there’s a death in the family people tend to show their true colors. So we asked David for assistance with the passing of our mother and explained to him what we were also seeking out of making sure she Rest In Peace. He seemed to have only wanted our money. He didn’t help with anything I asked or better yet my family has asked for when trying to make sure things went accordingly with the courts. I ended up with getting charged for unnecessary stuff because he wasn’t answering on time. When we finally mentioned how unprofessional they have become with working to closing her estate case he got upset and then completely ignored my family and I. We had to start waiting until they showed up to the office for us to even try to explain that I’m getting threatening letters and paid for his professional help and ask why am I getting these letters when he should be doing his job. He always tried to end the conversation with the slicking of his hair back and saying don’t worry about it he will handle it. He never did! I had to finish closing out my mothers estate with the help of the same individuals he didn’t want to deal with and that was my fam along with very polite people in the courthouse. I had to contact NC State Bar and complain. Never will I ever refer him to anyone. Smh!!

I have known David for a long time,

I already filed my ex parte before I highered him. He asked for 4 big ones. Bc of the birth state of my son was ohio, my ex parte was dissolved. It was a judges meeting that decided this, he was just a messenger. He did nothing with my case. After asking the secretary... (His wife) about my retainer fee bc literally nothing was done. She tells me "that was payment for his time and the meeting he went to. [The judges meeting]. So basically he ripped me off big time. Now I'm out 4 grand that I need for an Ohio lawyer. Watch yourself, snake in the grass.

Isn't very good at his job. Talks a big game. Falls apart in court.
