I hurt myself in 2018 and was without a job for a couple years , I came here seeking to lower my child support and get more visits if not custody of my kid .

For the last 2 years I sat down with this lady maybe 5 times to get ready and set up for this case .

It’s now Jan 27, 2020 and the court case is over and I still haven’t got the child support reduced I still have no job and I only got 1 extra day of visitation.

The child support case was set for late Feb 2020 , and for some reason the attorney wants to retract representation!

I wish this lady would have done what I asked her from the beginning which was lowering my child support for the fact I was making a bunch of money and couldn’t handle paying an astronomical amount of money and not being employed.

Im here to warn you all Hatley is very busy, she’s stays in the courthouse all day long and has no time , apparently she’s overbooked.

So apparently she run up a 3,500$ retainer doesn’t keke the cal inept informed on any bulls and suggest you do continue so no special court seasons ? Why would you suggest a special sessions knowing you spent the money up ?

Now she’s trying to daybreaks I Owen her 1000$ dollars ?

Wow. So I'm not alone, I experienced the same treatment, the office manager is so unprofessional and messy. I went into the office to prepare for court to only find out my case didn't even make it onto the docket, which was their fault. And the attorney had the nerve to get into an argument with me. So unprofessional! And this is NOT A SPAM I was a client, I can provide pictures of my receipts!

During my consultation she told me another clients business, she hired the attorney who was representing my wife. Her staff also lost important documents that I produced for my case. DO NOT USE.The best way to get rid of lawyers like this is keep contacting North Carolina State Bar to let them know what a unprofessional, uncaring, shyster ANGELA HATELY is. I strongly suggest filing a grievance .She is sheisty she went behind our back and filed a motion to with draw as our attorney with out even telling us and not finishing contract. Then when I confronted her about it she went behind are back again a filed a motion for withdrawal as lawyer but this time said attorney client conflict. If I was not a client how come my name is on contract LIAR. You are unethical lawyer.

It took her over 20 months to get permanent child support and 9 months to get temporary child support. She also promised to get defendant to pay lawyer fees. Instead of finishing her job like it stated in contract. She went behind our back and filed a motion to withdraw as our attorney. She didn't even try if she would have filed paper work and fees were not paid by defendant I would have no issues. She did nothing. If you want a long drawn out case pick her then have her lie and not complete the job. The front office staff is also unprofessional the secretary will not let you know you have a court date. Are call you 5 min before and say you have a court date or it has been canceled due to Mrs. Hatley having a case more important than yours. If your case is not important to her she does not care about you. If you are a single parent and need the money for your kids. I would not use this lawyer you will go broke before you see a single penny from the other partner who owes child support. I hope this review helps other people and heed warning using This lawyer.

My Ex filled a modification to get Custody of our son, I was extremely terrified and worried about the case, mainly because he filled in another county and the lawyer he had had tremendously great reviews.

My husband and I were introduced to Mrs. Hatley for representation by a local attorney in our hometown. We were very anxious in meeting with her for the first time as we traveled over an hour to meet with her and especially considering our case involves custody. The staff that we meet at the office at our initial appointment and have interacted with thus far have all been very welcoming, knowledgeable, professional, attentive, and responsive to our questions in a timely manner. During our initial meeting with Mrs. Hatley, my husband and I felt very comfortable and assured of her qualifications to represent us and our case. Bottom line up front: Communication was severely lacking and she didn’t make us feel like a priority.
-Several times that I called, I didn’t receive a call back.
-I called on July 14th for an update. After patiently waiting a month, I called again on August 14th for any new information. My paralegal said ‘there has been several things happening’ but gave me the same info from July.
-Hatley said she would file subpoenas on Bills, bank accounts, insurance, ect. *She did not* at all. However, I was subpoenaed for a Years worth of pay stubs the night before the trial.
-Sure, court must take a while and I imagine there is a lot of red tape, but when I confronted the office for not returning calls and taking weeks to respond, they annotated in my file that ‘He apologized for being impatient’. Are you kidding me?
-Mrs. Hatley recommended that we hire a private investigator for cohabitation. I mentioned that the person living with my ex, might have a different address. She persisted. I hired a PI; for $1,500. After which Hatley agreed to accept the case. Only later to mention him having a different address would kill the case.
-Icing on the cake: I called her office to inform them that my wife was being induced into labor in November, a few days before court. They asked if I wanted to reschedule, I said absolutely not, I am about to deploy. I showed up to court with my wife and 3 day old daughter only to have No represensation. I called her office and they, in a very condescending way, told me it had been rescheduled!!! Now, I’m deployed and today, I find out that hiring her was an absolute waiste.
On the bright side, I’d do it all over again just to know my ex wife had to pay an attorney.

I would not hire Hatley if my life depended on it. Her review rating makes no sense at all.

I got a speeding ticket driving on my drive from South Carolina to New York. I was already irritated from the highway closings on I95 which prolonged my already lengthy trip. After getting that ticket all I could think in my head was: OMG how much is this going to cost me, How do I fight an out of state ticket. How is this going to affect my insurance and my job.

Not too long after arriving home, I had stacks of legal services mail. I couldn't believe it. How do you pick an out of state lawyer to represent you? I went through the mail, and google the reviews for the attorneys. Some reviews were just horrible. At this point i was stressed out. I typed in the google search engine Traffic Attorneys in South Carolina and i seen iTicket.law- Powered by Hatley Law Office with thousands of OUTSTANDING reviews with services offered at $99. I said to my self, " There is no way this could be real. I kept looking at different attorneys reviews and clients horrific stories. I didn't want to be one of those people paying an attorney and them no show up on my behalf.

It took a few hours, but I choose iTicket.law- Powered by Hatley Law office. What's $99 compared to an unknown price until after the hearing. BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE. I paid them $99, sent them my NY driving record, and that was it. They took care of EVERYTHING. My ticket was dropped down to an improper equipment ticket compared to what I would have gotten going 82 in a 65. I have until December to pay my court fee etc. of $263. They emailed me with up dates. They completely took my stress away lol. I will recommend them to any and everybody.

As a result, the outcome was what was hoped and prayed for. God answers prayer and works through those who trust and submit to Him. My case was quite complex and highly emotional as child custody cases normally are. I was extremely uneasy about what the entire process would be, as I had never had to deal with a situation that had so much at stake. Miss Hatley did nothing to help my children’s case, she’s lazy and her paralegals are even worse. I was never informed of court dates or documents in time, while the other party was aware I was in the dark. She makes a trial 6 months out, meanwhile I’m instructed to pay money on this therapist alida Mason, and get drug test every month.. Go to this class, money here, money there and did I mention she loves to Bragg on herself. Your doing the work for her, she does absolutely nothing. When the date comes, she’s in another trial, and she says afterward that we can schedule a special session. She tells my mother the next morning a court date was set for next month and I was informed. No I was not informed. Meanwhile my children are asking to come home, and the stress of not having them has caused health issues and this women up and quits on me. Do not go to this women unless you want to throw away your money. She’s an awful lawyer.

This law firm had to reschedule a consultation several times. After the first time, I asked the receptionist to please make sure she rescheduled me a day she knew the lawyer would be free so this doesn't happen again. And wouldn't you know it, the receptionist rescheulded me 3 times in the same day, then I showed up just to find out the lawyer would not be back in the office that day. I'm sure my time is not as valuable as hers, but none the less it's valuable.

My husband received a hefty speeding ticket and I decided to hire Hatley Law Firm because their pricing was one of the lowest I have seen! They called me and in just a matter of minutes the payment was taken. They also informed me of what they expected to get his ticket reduced to. I received an email the same day as his court date telling me they got it reduced to where there would be no points or insurance increases! Given his prior driving record I was surprised! I spoke with them many times prior to payment. I even provided them with copies of driving record. I had multiple old issues and asked if they could help the staff assured me they could. I asked a time frame and the staff assured me in a week or two. I paid 2000 dollars and now they have schedule court in mid MAY 2020 that is over 3 months away. Not in the week or two discussed. My license was suspended for failure to appear. Then I got ticket for driving while suspended. These were for non moving violations not DUIs just being slack on my part. HOWEVER THEY WERE MADE AWARE UP FRONT AND THAT I WANTED IT RESOLVED ASAP.I WAS ASSURED THAT WOULD HAPPEN. I received the emails regarding the scheduled court case just now at nearly 10pm....smh. I am soooooooo upset. I FEEL LIKE I HAVE BEEN HUSTLED.

When I scheduled my appointment I made it clear that I had to pick up my daughter by 6pm so the receptionist and I decided 4:30pm would be an adequate time. It would allow my husband and I to get done with work at a fairly decent time and I would have at least an hour to talk to a lawyer for a $90 consultation. So when I showed up to my appointment on time, informed to pay the consultation money upon arrival and then told I had wait because she was still in another consultation, I was pretty taken back. After 15 minutes of waiting, I became annoyed asked for a refund because at this point I’m not paying to talk to someone for less than an hour. I didn’t get an apology from anyone in the office. It was really demeaning having to explain my situation when I booked my appointment, leave work early and then have to be pushed to the side without an apology or call back when things didn’t plan out accordingly. Very disappointing!

She is effective, efficient and doesn't take advantage of her clients. She works sun up to sun down, thank you Attorney Hatley!

Attorney Hatley and her staff are amazing. My experience was absolutely five stars! My ex was difficult, to say the least and Attorney Hatley knew exactly what to do at every turn. I live out of state and was a bit skeptic if a lawyer would really be invested in my case. Not only was she vested in my case, I felt she was vested in me as a person. She was always available by either phone or email. Many times I would email in the evenings thinking she would get to it the next work day and she would email me back quickly. I don't think she ever stops working.
My ex has been manipulating the system for years, making it difficult to see my kids and making my life miserable. I did not think there was much I could do. Let’s be honest: by the time you need an attorney, you and your close loved ones have probably been through the wringer, sustained a lot of drama and/or conflict, and you arrive to your first attorney consultation somewhat traumatized and distrustful of people in general. Added to that is choosing an attorney can be a gamble. On breaks and during recesses, she was completely down-to-earth with me, my family, and my character witnesses. I never thought that a trial would actually be a positive experience, but it really was, especially with Attorney Hatley at my side.
The court is supposed to work for both parties and be fair. Attorney Hatley knew I was human, and had imperfect and frustrated moments along the way, and she supported and defended me. Mrs. Hatley took on my case after my children were given to my their mother who had told the court I was unfit and was never in my children's life. I was so frustrated and upset and before paying Mrs. Hatley a dime she confronted my ex lawyer and told him as soon as she was hired he better be prepared because she was going to fight it. AND SHE DID!!!! It took two years, DSS was called on me several times with false allegations, I was put on child support (which Mrs. Hatley also took care of), each time we went to court she reassured me everything was going to be okay. Ms Hatley is THE attorney to retain if you want to win your case. She is very thorough, caring and patient. She took her time to completely explain every step of each process of my custody suit with me. I was attempting to obtain custody of my 10 year old granddaughter and it took 357 days , but Ms Hatley did it ! Not once did we not have My granddaughter with us through the whole ordeal. She was able to obtain the correct paperwork to have her place with us immediately . I cannot sayenough positive things about her. This was a very emotional case and she was unbelievably patient and caring. Ms Hatley is the attorney you want if you want to win your case .
