I can’t tell you how much Sidney Wike and his staff has helped my husband and I. From day one I knew I had found a lawyer who would fight for me and work with me. He met me on his days off and was always so accommodating. He truly cares about your situation and will do everything he can do help you. He helped us with all of our debt. Please don’t hesitate to get his help. I truly can not say enough about him and his office. I will be forever thankful.
I was prompted at all 3 of my appointments to write a review for this office so here’s my experience. (Note: I’m only giving a star because my debt is now mostly gone - I am absolutely shocked that I’m the first to leave less than 5 stars.) 1. Office staff RARELY answers the phone. This is no exaggeration. It’s odd because they’re never on the phone, or busy really, when you see them at your appointments. 2. They respond to emails ONLY after you’ve reached out 2-3+ times. For instance, I emailed them with questions on a Friday, emailed them again the following Wednesday after no response and finally heard back on Thursday. 3. At my first appointment, Sidney had to Google answers to my questions right in front of me. This seemed odd and unsettling. 5. Sidney was nice enough at my first appointment but that quickly went downhill. He is quick to show extreme annoyance and impatience when you aren’t answering or understanding his questions quickly enough. 6. As a first time bankruptcy filer, I didn’t know WHAT questions to ask. When I did ask questions, I was repeatedly told “we’ll get to that, but first...” and my questions were never answered. 7. There is no clear or written schedule for when you should be turning in the necessary paperwork for your case and they definitely don’t send reminders. I was met with extreme annoyance, over-the-top eye rolls and accusations when I turned my paperwork in the day of my last appt (having not been told that it was supposed to be brought in weeks before!!!). 8. Regarding #6, when I gave Caren my paperwork on filing day, she looked at my income and told me “oh you make more than that”. I could only assume she thought I was LYING to her or withholding information. I told her if she didnt believe me to compare my self-employed income to my bank statements, to which she rolled her eyes, pointed to a stack of 4 files on her desk and replied “well, if I did that for everyone I’d be here forever”. Well that’s your job, Caren, and I am not a liar. Real professional... 9. Did I mention I had to sell my only car to pay the $2095 in fees? For that amount of money, you’d think that staff, as well as the lawyer himself, would be more professional, more easily reachable and have their act together. I was called by the wrong name at every appointment (as well as typed out in emails!) even after repeatedly correcting them over the phone, by email and in person. They couldn’t even get my first name right?? 10. Yes, bankruptcy court is a quick thing. You’re in and out within an hour. However, I had literally 30 seconds to talk with Sidney before my case and he didn’t even remember who I was and asked if I had brought my filed paperwork with me - ??? I was told to only bring my license and SS card. During my time in court when the judge asked Sidney a direct question, Sidney fumbled with papers and files and told the judge he would “have to look into that”. Again, he was unprepared and didn’t seem to have it all together which was highly concerning, frustrating and embarrassing. 11. Sidney was able to get one of the court fees taken off of the $2095. Because of this, we had overpaid and needed to be reimbursed. He wrote me a check but did not reimburse me the correct amount. He still owes me $15. Shouldn’t a bankruptcy lawyer be familiar with basic math??? 12. Don’t expect any help or answers to questions from this office after your court date. It’s as if you never existed to them once you’ve seen the judge. Remind me again why I sold my only car and paid them $2095? Customer/client service? Reliability? Professionalism? Definitely not.
Save yourself from a frustrating, discouraging and all around terrible experience and go to ANY of the other Upstate bankruptcy lawyers instead.

Sidney is all and more than his reputation suggests. He tells you what he is going to do, and then follows through 100%. His office staff is top shelf as well. If you are drowning in debt and need assistance, I strongly encourage you to schedule a free consultation with Sid.
