HORRIBLE!!!! I would never recommend them to anyone. I hired Alex Helfer to handle my divorce which at 1st was going great but then he fell off track and I was not able to reach him via email, text, calls and I even showed up at the office at random times with no luck. I had to call the state bar because I had no idea what todo. I had to pay another attorney to finish the my divorce case which he had it done within 2 weeks. Shortly after Alex called me and stated that he had health problems and hoped I understood. If that was the case someone could have called me and gave me an update but nothing was done!!! Worse experience ever!!! After everything he than tried to blame me on why my case took way to long! Talk about professional!! Wish I would of never stepped into his office!!

So I was calling around salt lake to try to find a family law lawyer. Alex was respectful in giving me a call back, and I explained to him that I needed a lawyer specifically for trial only. He then quoted me $10,000 for a retainer fee! I thought I must have hear him wrong so I asked him again. $10,000 is what he said again. I have never heard of a lawyer charging that much for a retainer fee. Especially for partial services. He has only been a lawyer since 2010, so I couldn't believe he quoted that. I could go through jolley and jolley for $2500 retainer fee. Don't waste your time calling these guys unless you are a millionare.

IF YOU NEED A LAWYER LOOK NO FURTHER!!!

I was given 3 tickets for driving my friends vehicle, to my surprise revoke registration, expired registration and not having a front plate. I was very upset but in the state of Utah you assume responsibility of that car the minute you are behind the wheel (lesson learned)!

Fast forward months later, I discover that this tickets where never a citation but 3 MISDEMEANORS ON MY BACKGROUND CHECK! To give you an example it was just above a drug charge class misdemeanor. I was being declined for apartments and employment BECAUSE of these tickets. I was beyond appalled, I contacted a few lawyers but they all were charging WAYYY too much, so I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I did appeal on my own to the district court thinking okay the prosecutor will hear my unique situation and get my charges dropped as citations (no lawyer all on my own doing)... Well the date came where I went to court and guess what NOTHING they did not want to negotiate, they have hundreds of cases and you are just another guilty case. I plead not guilty and was given another date to for court hearing.

At this moment I was really trying to find a miracle! I was not going to wait 3 years for these misdemeanors to fall off (might as well say goodbye to nursing school, jobs, and apartments). I was googling trying to find criminal lawyers in my area, I came across a couple and called in desperation and hoping that it would not cost me an eye and a leg.

I READ SOME REVIEWS FROM NEWTON AND HELFER SITE AND THEY WERE ALL POSITIVE! I am so grateful to have found them! He gave me my options and being a prosecutor for many years he was able to predict what might happen & GUESS WHAT ALL THE CHARGES WERE DROPPED!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
