Costly mistake...

I spent around 20k with these guys. The staff was actually great however my attorney Peter Bracken was not mentally present on my case. To be honest I sat and listened to him talking with the opposing counsel at a court hearing as we waited for the judge for almost 2 hours. It sounded like a job interview and after that it was like he was working for the other team rather than my team. I can't believe the things he talked me into or didn't look out for me in so many ways that is the reason I pay him $200 per hour! I couldn't be more dissapointed. If you want to lose and have a n attorney who doesn't get back to you except if it is to bill you, then here you go. Hire these guys. I have started over now with an attorney who is AWESOME and wish I would have done it sooner. For a simple divorce I am sure these guys are ok. If it is complex with a lot to lose then do yourself a favor and DON"T HIRE THESE GUYS!!!

I spent over $2,000 dollars for my lawyer to tell me I would need to get a lawyer in another state. Complete waste of time and money.

Brittany Moffit and her team totally kicked butt for my custody case! It was a mess, there wasn't anything in place, and I didn't know where to start. I dont think it could have gone any better. I'm sorry to post a negative review, but I'm disappointed. I was excited to get a referral to this law office and after looking at the website and reading a few bios I felt hope and was excited to call. When I called they informed me that none of their attorneys would be willing to speak with me even for a few minutes without paying $50. To me this is poor business practice, because this isn't my first time around the attorney block. I KNOW how important it is to feel some chemistry between you and your attorney. And I want to feel that before I'm just going to go throw $50 at something. I'm not asking for an hour or any legal advice, Just a few minutes...
I understand that attorneys are worth a lot of money, but I've spoken to some amazing attorneys (one in particular who had been practicing for 40 years and spent twenty minutes on the phone with me, but was sad to say his schedule was too full right now with a trial he was involved in.) as I've been searching, and even they are willing to spend a few minutes on the phone.... That's too bad. One of these attorneys could've potentially made some good money from my case, if they would've been willing to "work" for "free" for a couple minutes. :(

Brittany Moffit has been great to work with over this last year! She is very knowledgeable and knows what she is doing. Her paralegal, Amber, communicates with me frequently and does a great job in responding whenever i have any questions or concerns. Ken Burton helped me with Divorce and he was great. His paralegal Olivia was great to work with too. They were very patient with all my questions and concerns and great to take the time to help explain things.

I've never written a review and I've waited months to write this one. I used Brittany Moffitt as my attorney and Heather Jemmett as her paralegal for roughly 8 months. During this 8 months, I had one mediation and one temporary orders hearing and this cost me roughly $17k. They never seemed to be on the same page and everything seemed to be filed at the last minute with factual errors or grammatical errors that made it look like I filed it myself. Brittany failed to question the lack of any real financial documentation in my ex's financial disclosure and failed to question how my ex's realtor expenses shot up 42% last year which dropped her income to be on par with minimum wage. Both of these issues led to an unreasonable amount of spousal support being awarded to my ex in the temporary orders hearing. Nine months later and I'm still fighting to get this adjusted. Since I hired new counsel, I have had a mediation, a contempt hearing, and a hearing on the temp orders and I have spent a fraction of what they charged. Also, the disk given to me with all my documents they supposedly scanned... was blank. I would strongly advise anyone to think twice about using Burton law offices and be prepared to spend $$$$.

these guys didn't do much. Even missed things that I told them about. they cost alot too. save your money find someone else. we didn't fight about anything. but cost $7000.00

Mike did a great job representing me. He listened to all my wishes and helped me come up with a reasonable resolution. He was very knowledgeable and let me know when I wasn’t being logical or I was not compromising but would still fight for my wishes and respect whatever I wanted to do or go for. The divorce process is very long when you have lots of assets or mutual businesses and they give you the same attention and dedication on the first day through the last and beyond. I worked with ken as well on a few issues as a co-counsel regarding my business and they made a great team and I walked away from everything very satisfied with the end results. I hope to never go through another’s divorce however if life takes me that direction I would choose to use them again. Janae was amazing and very understanding. She was empathetic and very approachable but also helped me stay focused and come to my senses when emotions take over. Carlie was always very friendly and welcoming and I had zero billing issues. If you are reading this that means you’re most likely starting your divorce process. Good luck and always remember you’re amazing and you have the right team on your side.

Everyone at the office was nice and always answered my questions back quickly. However my divorce took almost a year, with one delay after another. I was frustrated that we kept having delays that they would not push the other attorney on. I'm glad to finally be divorced, but the process was way too long.

Burton Law Firm was about 2 blocks from my house. I was new to UT, and needed a divorce lawyer. Chose them because of their location. I was referred to Burton Law Firm in August of 2017 and my divorce just finalized in December of 2017! This was a rough experience going through a divorce, but Burton law staff, paralegals, and the lawyers were on top of their game making the process so much easier for me and my kids! They allowed me to focus on being a father to help with their well being. Everyone from the receptionist to the lawyers were professionals and personable, which other law firms I contacted and met with were lacking. I will be handing out their card to anybody going through a divorce or requiring a family law office, because I believe they are the best in the area.

This is not your typical penny squeezing law firm! I felt that everyone I worked with had a genuine interest in my welfare and in resolving my case timely and effectively, especially Peter Bracken. I was looking for a law firm/lawyer that would give me an honest view of the options on both sides of my case without trying to extend my case longer than actually needed or "go after" the other party. I felt welcomed, and even though I don't have a ton of experience or upfront knowledge of the law, they didn't make me feel dumb at all. That's a big one in my book! If you're going to put up a "contact form" on your website for an attorney to get in touch with potential clients, you may actually want to contact potential clients. If you can't even email/call when I send you my info why would I have much faith that you would do so if I actually hired you.
