This is a first for me. I have never left a "☆" review in my life. Try as I might, I cannot justify more than one star (Cooper has excellent support staff) at this point. That fact saddens me beyond belief.
Mr. Cooper has made himself scarce (that is a gross understatement) over the past four to five months. Nor, has he or his staff replied to repeated document requests via certified mail, first class mail, countless telephone calls, and even a face-to-face meeting within the halls of the Humboldt County Courthouse.
It is unclear what drives Cooper's lack-of-motivation in complying with his Clients request and it appears as if there is no other way for his client to obtain the documents, but by forcing his response via Court Order.
After a decades-long professional and personal relationship with Mr. Cooper and members of his extended family, his client ( my elderly uncle) feels abandoned, completely. He is bewildered and perplexed as to why there has been no response from Cooper for months, even after numerous and persistent attempts at making contact. Oh, and a fully paid account.
A previous review from a client stated that he splits his time between South Carolina and California. I am not aware of the truth behind that statement; but, it is abundantly clear that he is not genuinely interested in assisting my uncle with his personal estate plan--at a very crucial point in time where time is of the essence.
All in all, his client is now forced to incur additional counsel costing thousands more in legal fees.
If something in Cooper's Law Office or his family has changed, and it makes a timely response impossible to the point that he is unable to produce the requested documents, then a simple phone call will suffice--but, even that seems too much trouble for his staff.

Dan Cooper is never around and is very hard to get ahold of. He predominately lives in North Carolina and comes to Eureka only a couple of weeks a year to do business.
