Gotta scedual way in advance basically gotta get the right person on the phone if you need an emergency visit same day. Sometimes it cant happen but def had people help me out there so that's where they get an extra star... other than that idk... seeing multiple different people instead of my same doctor doesnt seem like the right move.

Appointment reschedules now are 2 months +. A major concern for any patient seeking quality healthcare. I love the inclusiveness of the facility, but the exclusive appointments are concerning. I am not sure how to seek quality healthcare from a facility that can only see you 2 months out. This was not an issue in the past. Typically patient reschedule time was 2 - 4 weeks max. i.e (I am an insurance holder).
Love the Mazzoni center. Started treatment in July of 2018 and most of my visits have exceeded my expectations. Quick thorough service. The doctors are very quick with getting you the info / papers you need for treatments. The receptionists are great with last minute referrals as well. Only downfall are the INTERNS. Sheesh. Unorganized and terrible communication. No knowledge of anything lgbtq related.

I'm suppose to be having surgery in January 15th and its already January the 10th & my sergeants needed another lab work to continue my step to surgery but mazzoni fail to comply on making another appointment for lab work which may result in cancellation. but anna & ash is the only amazing people in their. I will be finding another trans friendly clinic.

As both a patient and a job applicant, Mazzoni discriminates based on HIV, mental health, and socioeconomic status. Their claim that they provide care regardless of ability to pay is a lie.

My experience at Mazzoni was horrifying and experienced discrimination as both a patient and a job applicant based on my HIV and mental health status, which are both protected under the ADA.

I’ve been going there for 3 years using their free healthcare program for youth. It is affordable, however, I have had many issues with cancellations and scheduling. I once drove over an hour to an appointment only to find out it was cancelled when I got there. I got no call email whatsoever. Now I only send them messages on the patient portal when I need refills of my medication. Other than that, I don’t enjoy going to Mazzoni.

EDITED: I am happy to hear the Board of Directors has accepted Lydia's resignation. As such I am happy to continue using this wonderful lgbt office with great staff as my primary care provider.
Original post: I have been going to mazzoni for almost a decade. I will be finding a new primary and taking my business and insurance elsewhere until/ unless the board of directors replaces the current ceo that practices retaliation against Mazzoni’s many wonderful employees. I will miss my two fabulous Dr.’s (Brisbon, and Luis) lab techs, nurses, and FOH staff, but the behavior by the cis straight CEO is beyond acceptable, and I refuse to support such an organization that finds her behavior acceptable, or fitting.

Horrible horrible. I drove 3 hours after waiting 4 months for an appointment only to find no parking. The lot wasnt full. They expect people from out of town to find on-street parking. Because we were 5 minutes late our appointment was cancelled. Their arrogance and ignorance because they think they have the queer market pegged is staggering. I WAITED A YEAR FOR THE COURAGE TO EVEN CALL. F. U. MAZZONE

Used to be an amazing LGBT+ clinic, then the board became greedy and decided they loved money more than they did the reason why they opened.
They have since changed their directive to cater to those with money and have gone out of their way to be antagonist towards the community. They no longer serve LGBT+ people, they serve dollar signs.

Used to be amazing but they’ve taken a serious nose dive. Sub par physicians, discrimination, insurance fraud and the turn over from staff makes continuity of care impossible. Fine for use as a free clinic but avoid if you need regular care

Used the patient portal to get my meds refilled, they won't send a new script to the pharmacy, they want my pharmacist to fax them a refill, my pharmacist has sent it on 8/30/19, again on 9/6/19 and again on 9/11/19. And still no refill for my HRT meds. Mazzoni center apparently no longer uses the patient portal to communicate with their patients. 6yrs going there and. Now I'm seriously considering finding a new Trans Care office. Cause apparently Mazzoni center doesn't care if you get your meds or not.

I have been going to the Mazzoni center for over 8 years since i have been living in the city, to say i am satisfied with my service there is an understatement. This place is amazing, from the service to the people i have never received anything but 110% from everyone to help me in any way i needed. The location is very clean and your wait is never long; in a time where this kind of medical care is not always affordable they have made it easy to maintain your personal and sexual health without the stress of cost. The Mazzoni center is a great example of how healthcare and the public should be treated. Bravo

Got switched to a new doctor, Dr. Gross. Saw her once after my old doctor stopped working at the office and got my hormones set. Almost a year goes by (the normal amount of time between appointments that I’d had with my old doctor after 3+years of HRT). Ran out of meds, needed a refill and was told I needed to make my next appointment. The morning of, I learned the bus company I normally used for transportation to Philly went under, so I had to reschedule. Doctor wouldn’t refill my scripts unless I got external bloodwork done, citing my safety. Two weeks later, after a few messages trying to get a blood test apt set up elsewhere, no response during that time. Then a week later I get a message saying she hasn’t been in the office and will send a 2 week script to last til my apt. My question, if my health is so damn important that you can’t send one more month, then why would you make me stop them for essentially three weeks only to send a small script?? Now when I go in to my rescheduled apt my labs are obviously gonna be f*d due to your lack of availability.

I've been coming here for a decade. before they moved, it was truly the best place to receive the plethora of health and mental care in philadelphia. the staff were friendly, understanding, listened to you, appointments were available with the doctors you asked for, it felt like a family. ever since they moved to bainbridge and all the doctors started leaving, its just not the same level of care at all. appointments are non existent, they had none of my paperwork or history ready when i showed up. the staff seems to be more annoyed than ever, and short with the patients. the doctors dont seem to know anything. the mental health staff were clueless about all the things i asked. i dont know what happened, but i wish they would go back to the way it was before bainbridge. i've already switched providers, it was hard to do, but without that level of care, i dont see any point in going there anymore.

I used to like this center but, ever since they moved they have been impossible to schedule & staff seems not to care as much anymore in regards to scheduling. The people are respectful & nice but service is not the same anymore. I was about 10minutes late to an appointment (which is my fault I understand). Yet still, receptionist wouldn't even ask the doctor if she would see me then, told me there were abosolutely no appointments available for a routine appointment for atleast 3-4 weeks with any doctors in the center which is absolutely absurd! I have changed to Esperanza Hospital on 6th street (this location is the best). Check it out if you are looking to switch from Mazzoni they are comparable to how friendly and convenient Mazzoni USED TO Be.....

To the Health Center Department: STEP IT UP! Not performing an adequate mouth swob and missing 2 diagnoses and mistakingly scheduling a vaccination 1 month too early is unacceptable. I encourage the doctors and appointment staff to retrain on these basic functions to ensure no one has to miss work and prolong an infection unnecessarily.

Phenominal, special care for youth 14-24 for std and sti treatment, birth control, help with housing, food stamps, food on sight, and mental health care for FREE. I walked in with nothing to my name and they treated me with the respect and kindness that every human deserves. I am in shock and so pleased that my physical and mental needs were taking care of by the staff and the doctor, of course. I have been looking for this type of care from philly health centers and planned parenthood and haven't received an ounce of respect. Mazzoni center has made life so much easier! These are the types of places to stay away from if you are transgender. They make up their own guidelines for things such as obtaining hormones when private practice doctors take less time AND MONEY. These places are notorious for taking advantage of us. Please make sure that you know the requirements for everything on your journey because MANY so called "professionals" will try to take as much of your money as possible. The accepting of INSURANCE is a hook. You have 3 - 4 times the number of sessions to get on hormones than someone in private practice and you will end up paying these people more money!
