Thanks again Joseph Aplin Jr
Mr. Zachary Groves from the Law office of James E. Crawford represented me in my legal matter. His services are very detail oriented. As a communicator, Mr. Groves is effective in two ways: 1) As important legal dates approach, he will make contact. 2) When Mr. Groves needs to explain the law, he is able to explain it to a "normal" person like me and not come off like he is condescending. Thank you.
operate with a professionalism you can count on.
The handling of my case was impeccable.
Two other lawyers from a different firm previously tried to handle my case resulting in financial loss and disappointment.
Then I hired attorney Zachery Groves. This was a smart legal move.
Zack and his team: Elana Raphaely esq. and paralegal Courtney Capers were able to work thru the court system with ease, precision and confidence.
Attorney Groves took charge and said in a confident reassuring voice “It’s my job to protect you”.
Attorney Groves remove the stress from my life by leveling the field where the case was unfairly stacked against me.
Today I am a product of a winner from the law offices of James E. Crawford and associates.
Mark..
I usually don’t give bad reviews, but I had a terrible experience, the business is fundamentally flawed with poor leadership, and if it saves another person from graying hair and a depleted bank account, then I’ve done my job.
I do NOT recommend James Crawford and Associates.
It seems that their policy is to drag your case out as long as possible until you’re completely broke.
Their attorneys aren’t the usual smart, quick, strategic thinkers, but instead, they’re highly paid notaries that are terrible at simple copy/paste jobs, and they don’t know what to do in court (and that’s if they even show up to court, NOT KIDDING!). So if you see the names of other people’s children in your examination questions, that’s normal at this firm, but last time I checked, I don’t have any kids named Jayden.
After I was passed off from my first attorney Zachery Groves to Lauren Kamenas, she charged me for duplicated work, she would not respond to my calls/emails for weeks and months at a time, and when she did respond, she was quick to make excuses or blame me for something. She often mentioned that she was working at a discounted rate – I guess to justify her poor service. She once told me that another attorney abruptly left the firm, so she had a much higher work load, maybe that's why she usually came unprepared. It's also interesting that I'd often see "case meeting" on my invoices, but I wasn't privy to these meetings, and nothing was getting done, but hey after those meetings Lauren and her paralegals all had enough money to fill up their BMWs and go get drinks.
Zack is the lead Domestic Law attorney there. He was energetic and confident, he knew his stuff. This was the guy I wanted to represent me. Since I was a veteran, a combat-wounded Marine missing both legs after stepping on an IED in Afghanistan, and taking care of three kids BY MYSELF, Zack said he wanted to help me out, so he gave me a discount from the normal rate of $325/hr to $250/hr and asked that I put down only $1500.
After over $20,000 and two years later, I couldn’t even get Lauren to answer a few simple, time sensitive questions that I had during a phone call. Note that they were still charging me but she refused to answer important questions. She was never a good communicator, and that was only one of many red flags that I should have addressed from the beginning, but trying to balance three kids, work, physical therapy, and disabled life isn't easy.
During a phone call with Mr. James Crawford, I wanted to bring these concerns to his attention, however, I was mocked and ridiculed.
If I had continued with Crawford’s firm, I would have spent well over $30K or $40K. They take advantage of disabled veteran single fathers. They will nickle and dime you for every little thing and they don't communicate to you ahead of time what's going on. If you fire them, they will continue making up reasons to bill you until the judge signs off on their withdraw. They'll call the court and wait on hold for 30 - 45 minutes, and there goes a good chunk of the money in the account you just replenished, so now Beth from Billing will be calling you today to get another payment even though you literally just made one. Just stay away, you were warned.
Hire someone else – or, even better – do what I did, figure out a reasonable way to settle your own divorce. You can do it, I believe in you!
God bless.

Case # 137265‐FL
Mr Crawford personally contacted me that same day, told me everything would be ok and had me in his office the following morning. He understood the gravity of my situation, not just legally but also mentally & emotionally. From Day-1, Mr Crawford dealt with me and my case with great expertise, strength and compassion.
My ordeal was quite grave, but I always felt very confident that with Mr Crawford in my corner, the best outcome could be possible. Over my lengthy ordeal, Mr Crawford has spent countless hours listening, advising, and answering notebooks full of questions and scenarios.
Mr Crawford was diligent and thorough in my Case. He ensured I was aware of what was happening and what was coming next. He dealt with Law Enforcement and the Court System in my proxy with ALL communications. He ensured I completed the very best Assessments and Treatments to strategically place me in the very best light with the Judge.
When the time came, I feel that Mr Crawford defended me as he would have defended his own son. Because of Mr Crawford, my case outcome was better than I had ever dreamed of! In many ways, Mr Crawford saved my life…
IF YOU OR A LOVED ONE FIND YOURSELF IN A TIME OF DESPERATION,,,,,, PLEASE CALL THE LAW OFFICES OF JAMES E. CRAWFORD JR & ASSOCIATES!!!!!
(A HUGE shout out to Patty Keene and the rest of the staff! You all made me feel like Family! Thank you!)
Zach does not waste time in addressing my case, he gives up front truth, the good, the bad of my case and walked me through the steps to reach my settlement. Because of his outstanding service, I still keep his legal service to represent my ongoing custody settlement.

We expected to pay more overall for the case, but not before the case even got filed. They were fired and we were unable to retain an attorney fast enough to stop the other parent from hurting our rights. If you want protection and someone who actually a) cares about the case and then b) can do the job correctly, this is not the office for you. They may do well in some circumstances, but not in a urgent or even timely manner.
(I wish the front desk was more professional and helpful, but the lawyers were great and so well informed!)
With any good attorney, you as a client must still put in work so that he/she can be well prepared to argue for your case. He let me know what was required from me in advance and kept me in the loop of the next direction we needed to move. This made for a very successful case! If you are looking for a Family Law attorney, Mr. Zachery Groves is one of the best in the business. I must also mention his office staff was phenomenal with scheduling, finances and admin support. Dawn and Patty were a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend the James E. Crawford Law Firm. Thank you for a job well done! – Mandy R.
I hired James E Crawford and team with a pretty scary issue. I had the opportunity to work closely with Petty Keene ( Assistant Firm Manager) and Mark Sobel ( lawyer) Mark helped us with a satisfactory resolution, Seemed nigh on impossible. Not only did he defend us but offered emotional succor to myself and those I care about. We are enternally great full for Mark and James E Crawford team for great service and I hereby recommend Mark Sobel without reservation.

Mia
