She is fighter that cares for her clients! She goes the extra mile!

Thank you Mona!!! Mona and her staff are amazing and passionate about their work. We had a complicated custody case and she really listened to us and fought for my husband!!! She was in constant contact with my husband and me every step of the way getting our feedback/ opinion before every step. She would even call me to check in and see how things were going.
We had a long road and she was there every step of the way letting us know her professional opinion and our options. She truly cares about her work and clients. She even came in over her Christmas vacation to work on our trial prep!!! We wouldn't be where we are today without her and I can't thank her enough for everything she did for our family.

Went to her for visitation and child support, did not push me any any direction. Listen to what my needs were and went in that direction. Thanks for all the help it's nice that you helped and not trying to drag the case on to get paid, "tried to make it short and fair." Be nice if all lawyers were like you.

Let me just start by saying our first impression of Mona was great. She had a tough attitude and said she was a fighter in court. None of which was true.
I will say her staff was amazing. Loved working with them.
1. The biggest problem!!!!! The judges, magistrate, and court staff hate her!!! Mona bragged about this late in relationships with her. She even bragged about how an officer pulled a gun on her because she got so out of contin court. As much as the courts/judges try not to be bias, they can’t help but dislike and not want to help Mona out.
2. She called us or emailed us about every tiny detail and charged us for it. Most of which was her parenting advice.
3. She copied every letter we had already got from the court, GAL, mediation or the opposing lawyer. All of which we were charged for time and 30 cents per copy. She copied every paper she could andcharged us for as much time as she could.
4. Mona use to be a counselor so half the time she talked about parenting advice and memories from her childhood. We were charged for that time also.
5. Mona told me to stop being a responsible step parent and start being a friend. That included advice about being more like fun aunt and doing things my stepson’s mom wouldn’t let him do! Be his friend, get him to like you. If he likes you. That include a scenario about my stepson getting a girl pregnant and how I should be the type of person he could confide, never telling him dad or mom and helping him work it out without them. (Not ok advice...ever!)
Honestly if I would ever parent like that my husband would divorce me, just as I would do to him if he acted like that with our other children.
6. Mona would counter offer with my husbands ex without talking with us first. She would offer extra days, and then tells us that was what was wanted. After talking with the ex and reading emails we realized Mona was totally going against our best interests. (This is totally illegal for a lawyer to do)!!!
7. Mona would give advice, forget and then give us different advice. Sometimes she would yell at us for doing exactly what she had just told us to do the day before. Every conversation was reminding her of our case and getting conflicting advice from her.
8. She could never remember our case or situation. I expect that from, say, a dry cleaning business but this is a Childs life and our families life on the line. I’m paying $150 an hour. This was unexceptionable.
9. She told us to sell everything and take out any and every credit card just to pay her or she would drop us as clients. In closing selling our house. We were told our child was worth it. We paid a $2,500 retainer fee and always paid her off monthly. We were so scared to be late and sold off so much, very important possessions, just to pay her.
10. We had suspicions Mona was getting every penny out of us while avoiding court but towards the end when she offered my husbands ex extra days on her week and a different holiday schedule it became clear. Then mona told us she refused to put my husband on the stand because we didn’t agree with her parenting advice. Mona didn’t want my husband to talk about how we parent our son responsibly/not being a friend to our kids.
11. She refused to believe my husbands ex was lying and had hidden agendas. Even after we had her listen to a recorded conversation between my husband and his ex. The conversation contradicted His ex’s entire case. Thank goodness for our GAL who listened to the recording and went in our favor no help to Mona.
12. We thought the court system was horrible until we saw it was just our layer. We’ve spoken to 3 other lawyers who have been amazing. Not all lawyers are like Mona. Shop around. Please.
***If you’ve read this far I’d honestly say not to hire her. She has no kids and can not relate or even understand about parenting. She will waist all of your hard earned money. She is off her rocker and out of her mind. She’s from California and has a major liberal. Not what we stand for at all. Especially morally!

My spouse and I chose to do mediation, which was difficult at first, but proved to be extremely worthwhile, took far less time, was much less expensive, and we ended up with an agreement we were both satisfied with. I came to mona in serious need of help in a custody battle I was faced with for my 2 amazing sons.
