I live in a Earned Income school tax disrict and I am retired and have had no earned income since 2005>They insist that I owe over $400 in school tax since 2011. My accountant says no taxes owed. We have written to them given them copies of income tax filings, etc. No, they now say they put a lein on my house. Whey is the Attorney General putting up with thishow many people have just paid him money they don't owe just to be rid of the harrassment, an audit is needed now..

I owed taxes to Ohio back in 2015, so the State took my 2016 tax return to pay them back. A year later this place is still calling me trying to get me to pay something. Um....no....the State has been paid. They aren't getting a dime from me.

Absolute ambulance chasers. Incredibly unprofessional, rude, and the worst sort of attorneys.

Absolute a-holes. Trying to strong arm me, scare tactics into paying more than I can afford. After reading other people's reviews I called the attorney generals office and found out my total payment is $200 less then what he was telling me I owe. How do people like this stay in business. Do some research before giving these people any credit card info! Save yourself some money! I also talked to the high and mighty Scott

I owed back taxes (my fault). I received numerous threatening letters from Andy Bowers & Associates (I get it, you're just trying to do your job and collect the states money). They finally get threatening enough for me to call, so I do so.

I get on the phone with a gentleman named Scott (an assistant of Andy's I believe). He is immediately rude and unbecoming of a "professional", basically telling me I'm not responsible and, "...it's not my problem you fell behind on your taxes..." Scott continues to push saying I am now on the IRS Offset list, which means all or a portion of my federal returns would be applied to the Ohio Attorney General first, then I'd get whatever (if any) was left over.

I reluctantly enter a payment arrangement with this firm. I asked for but did NOT receive any documentation in the mail pertaining to this agreement. I monitored my bank account very closely to ensure they were doing the right thing by obtaining only the money that was agreed to came out and that that money was in fact being applied to my back taxes.

Upon the completion of my payment arrangement, I called Andy Bowers & Associates in order to cancel the arrangement because I paid off the taxes earlier than what the payment arrangement was slotted for.

Again, I get Scott. I tell Scott I want to cancel the payment arrangement because all my taxes under the Ohio Attorney General's Office was now paid off. He then informed me that I still have a couple hundred dollars left (which have NOT been sent to collections yet). I said, "Scott. I have satisfied my end of the payment arrangement with your office. While there may be a few hundred dollars left on my back taxes, this no longer has anything to do with your office. I will take care of those taxes on my own accord." He replies, "Are you sure? You didn't pay your taxes on your own accord last time and that's why we are talking on the phone right now." Fuming at this point, I said, "That's none of your d*** business, Scott. You are by far one of the most unprofessional public servants I have ever spoken to. Cancel my payment arrangement right now and send me documentation stating you have done so." He says, "I'm canceling the payment arrangement and automatic withdraw now but we do not provide notification that we did." I said, "So I just have to trust that you're going to cancel it and stop the withdraws?" He replied, "Yep, pretty much."

As much as life interferes from a financial standpoint for many people from time to time, I'm going to do my best to never fall back on taxes ever again so I don't ever have to deal with Scott and Andy Bowers & Associates ever again!

Avoid if absolutely possible!

You do not need to go through this company to pay your back taxes. Do not let them BULLY you into a payment you cannot afford. I immediately called the firm to make payment arrangements upon receipt of their initial letter and Scott would not accept the payment amount I offered based on my budget so I made my payments directly to the site without their firm. They still continued to call leaving voicemails over the past 5 months or so and I did not return the calls with no issue. I returned one call today just because their last voicemail was more threatening just to have Scott try to tell me I am making payments but I missed a payment last month when I have NO contract for payment with this firm. He continued to act like it was his efforts that were guiding my payments and they clearly are not!! I am a responsible adult making the decisions to pay off my debt with no assistance from this firm. The attorney general really needs to work with a different firm.

Scammers - Their operation consists of searching county online public access clerk of court websites in Ohio for people who have tax judgments/liens and attempt to scam them into payments by sending threatening letters claiming a very exaggerated amount.
They are a legit depository for the State Treasurer, but their profits rely on someone paying them the amount that is far above the actual owed amount, which the balance gets returned to them by the state. They then are responsible for proceedings to 'refund' the payee, which they do not legitimately attempt and eventually are able to pocket the unclaimed funds.

For example, I owed a $30 school tax that was redacted and cancelled 3 years ago...somehow this company for the last FIVE YEARS is claiming I owe over $4000. The amount I 'owe' keeps increasing with every mailing.

If you receive a call from them, in 30 seconds you will know for sure they are not legit due to their unprofessional dialogue and abusive nature.

Their 'owner' is Daniel DeLuna, a fringe real estate broker in Columbus, OH. Ironically, his real estate website has no actual listings....only a 'contact us' area of their site. What a shock.
