Mr. Kuhn appears to be very sharply aggressive, and if you are seeking a contentious divorce, then this is probably your guy. However, my ex and I started out seeking a collaborative attorney, and within four days, my ex had decided to go the "aggressive" route. When I reminded my ex that we wanted to seek a collaborative attorney, I received a restraining order in the mail. This was not in the make-up of the man I had been married to for 26 years. In the six years of separation prior to the divorce, we had been friends, had celebrated holidays together with our new partners and our children and had created an extended family of sorts. The only thing new on the scene was the arrival of Mr. Kuhn. Our divorce took two years. We had already settled property and our children were grown. We only were deciding on spousal support. We had been married 26 years and the Judge on the first hearing immediately said this is a permanent spousal support case due to the length of the marriage. During the course of the divorce hearings, Mr. Kuhn directed my spouse to try to dispute the number of years we were married, trying to dig up issues with relationships to say I was having affairs, basically what one would say were nasty. This was a side of my former spouse I had never known during the 31 years of being together. My friendship with my ex was over, our extended family collapsed, our children were and are forever sad that their parents can't be friends anymore. The state of Ohio mandates permanent spousal support for a marriage longer than twenty years. But Kuhn was happy to spend to spend two years and over $50K of my ex's money not to mention of what the judge ordered my ex to pay of my legal fees, trying to convince a judge to think otherwise. Sad waste of time and emotional expense. I was not unhappy with my award of spousal support. It was almost double of what my spouse had been paying prior. But I was not happy with how Kuhn engaged in the process, behaved in court, tried to play dirty but was shot down by the Judge in his efforts. Do yourselves a favor and find someone else who really values collaborative divorces. This guy may do them, if you demand it, I would guess. But, he will try to convince you otherwise, if you have any money at all. That's where he makes his money. I think he enjoys this aggressive, under-handed one-upmanship that I saw him exhibit time and time again. I was hospitalized in the 30 days prior to the court hearing with chronic renal failure and a brain injury. Mr. Kuhn convinced my husband to refuse to postpone the hearing of our final court date. He also wrote into a paltry offer to my attorney an addendum where he would pay for my attorney fees that I couldn't pay her. I was bankrupt by that time. So my attorney, unethically, wasn't advocating for me anymore. So I guess in a sense, he can be be collaborative?

Ryan was great throughout the entire process of my marriage dissolution. He answered every question and addressed every concern as they came up.There was adequate communication but I also did not feel bombarded left and right. He did a wonderful job making me aware of what to expect. I would recommend him every time!

Ryan and his assistant, Jen, were very understanding and compassionate but yet professional and reasonable as they helped me file for divorce. One of the first things Ryan said to me was… “ I am more expensive than a counselor, so if you want to chat about things not directly pertaining to the case, I will steer you back on track….but I recommend it is healthy to go seek out a counselor to help you emotionally get through the divorce.” Right from the start he was very conscious of a budget and kept things moving that were important to the case. He reminded me that somethings could cost more in attorney fees than were worth proving. Where I wanted to achieve something based on the principle of it, he steered me back to the cost that would be sacrificed to get it.

Ryan is highly knowledgeable of the government retirement-type issues and an expert in the preparation of court orders specific to government retirement plans. One of the best ways to describe Ryan is that he has the mind of a chess player. He was always thinking one move ahead.

And after the court hearing, he follows through to be sure court awarded items are awarded - He'll stick with you. I promise! Ryan and his assistant, Jen, deserve kudos for a job well done. A sincere Thank You Ryan for accomplishing the near impossible. May your practice thrive!

Ryan and Jen are wonderful to work with at the hardest time of my life. Understanding, compassion, efficient and detailed. I would recommend anyone who is needing legal help to contact Ryan Kuhn. The process was so easy and the judge comes to Ryan's office, no court dates needed; for me at least.
They also have one of the coolest offices I have ever seen!

Highly recommend. Ryan did a great job handling my annulment at a fair price. Have recommended to several friends who have all had positive experiences as well.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING
There are no words to appropriately describe Ryan's expertise and professionalism, but I will try.

I hired Ryan as a result of being a defendant on a custody compliant. I felt that my situation was unique since I was not interested in contesting shared-parenting that was being requested by my ex. I was truly looking for an understanding and solution to why my daughter no longer wished to spend time with the other parent. I explained to Ryan the great level of protest she had to spending time with her father and how I was still encouraging contact and visits even though she would protest.

Ryan was very sympathetic to my situation, as well as the emotional distress that my daughter was experiencing. He immediately provided a referral to an exceptional therapist (that wasn't accepting referrals, but he convinced her to take my daughter as a new patient).

As for the legal guidance and representation he provided, I doubt that many attorneys could compare to Ryan. He understood my goal/intention (to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of my daughter), as well as my desire not to engage combatively with my high-conflict ex. Keeping my goals in mind, Ryan was very strategic and deliberate in how he interacted with the opposing counsel and the Guardian. Although my ex often tried to fight just for the sake of fighting, Ryan effectively navigating this and delivered the desired outcome.

In the end, I had a clear understanding of what was going on with my daughter, she re-established a connection/time with her father and there is now a clear, concise parenting agreement that helps to minimize conflict with my ex. This is solely thanks to Ryan's legal expertise and effective approach. Not to mention that he constructed about 95% of the parenting agreement. Often times having to correct the errors of the opposing counsel and even take initiative to reach out to her to reconcile issues that were barriers to resolving case.

I could not be happier with the outcome of my case. Ryan is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

Ryan is an amazing lawyer. He has made a very stressful event (custody battle) as stressfree as he could. He is extremely knowledgeable, and explains things in a manner everyone can understand. Whenever you have questions or new events come about, Ryan or Jen are always there to inform you or answer all questions WHENEVER you need them. I always get Ryan's undivided attention when i call with questions. I would not recommend anyone but Ryan to anyone going through custody or family matters needing a lawyer. He is truly a top notch lawyer and has been a blessing to my family!

Ryan and his assistant Michael are great. They helped me through a difficult time. My EX had problems with her own attorney completing paper work accurately and in a timely manner. Ryan stepped up to help the process along showing a level of professionalism that goes well above and beyond any reasonable expectation. He was calm and provided clear objective advice during a time when I was having trouble thinking clearly. I absolutely recommend him!

Ryan is an excellent lawyer. I know him both personally and professionally and he has always been great to deal with. Heck, I even sent his name to a potential referral today. As a fellow lawyer, it speaks volumes about someone if you are willing to refer them to your own clients.

Kuhn Limited did an excellent job handling some recent birth certificate / custody issues for me and my son Oliver. Ryan is very prompt and professional, quick with answers and issue resolutions, and the online status sharing system is great for keeping up with what is going on with the case. I am not sure just how long it would have taken me to resolve these issues without Kuhn Limited's help - what Ryan was able to handle in a week or two may not have never gotten done with him.

-thanks again!-

My personal experience with Attorney Ryan Kuhn was beyond exceptional. I have a daughter, Katerina, who now is 16 years old, and when I married my husband Jim 12 years ago, she asked Jim if she could now call him "daddy", and of course he said yes. Well ever since then, she has always wanted for him to legally be her "Daddy".
Knowing Mr. Kuhn thru a trusted friend, we asked him to do the adoption. Thanks to him, my daughter's dream came true.
Mr. Kuhn was so personal and yet so professional. When it comes to family issues, he is the one to call and will always be referred by me and my family.
Sincerely,
Sherri Thompson

Ryan is an extremely professional attorney, trustworthy and hard working. I was kept informed throughout the process and never felt like just another client. My case was a particularly complex custody case that required a detailed and specific approach. I would reccomend Ryan to anyone involved in a custody or family matter.
