I would definitely recommend Mr Hartley as a divorce lawyer. Initially Mr. Hartley was hesitant in taking my case due to its particular complexity and his availability (Christmas time). He was honest telling me that he may not be able to do anything given the particular issues of my case and voiced his concerns to me. However, after he pondered my situation, he accepted my case. This reveals to me his good character and his belief that I should not be shut out of my sons life due to past mistakes (a belief that people can be redeemed) and willing to take upon a challenge. He is a blunt individual and will tell it as he sees it. He does not dance around sensitive topics, but addresses them as needed. I prefer this method because it helped me to keep my expectations grounded, even if the truth or facts do hurt at times. He did not fluff or promise anything that he could not knowingly deliver. He is a smart and experienced man that is able to look at the paperwork involved and find good defenses and help explain what the opposing counsel may be up to. Unfortunately, due to my ex already having a consultation with Mr. Hartley months before, I was unable to keep him retained as the ethical conflict was not waived by my ex. There was nothing I could do about this mistake, but Mr. Hartley remedied the situation as I had requested and provided a referral to another lawyer who would take my case. I was sad to not be able to keep him as my lawyer, but happy with the outcome given the situation. Mr. Hartley seems to be aggressive and quite passionate about his clients making sure that they get the best representation, even in difficult cases.

Very poor and unprofessional service. As I walked in I overheard what sounded like a very heated discussion with the staff. I was under the impression that the staff members were intimidated by Mr. Hartley. Also, I’ve drawn my own conclusion that he may have been under the influence while speaking with me. Very scatter brained and most certainly unable to maintain his composure in a professional manner. It was very apparent that my timing was bad. However I have too much on the line to be doing business with a questionable character.

Seems to be very inexperienced. My son decided against perusing their services. Mainly Due to their inconsistency with staff members. As he was rescheduled several times to meet. The first time, we we felt very uncomfortable in this office. The second time, all new staff. I’m unsure how they maintain stability. Family matters are always very close to the heart. Hiring an attorney was the last thing I wanted to do the day I contacted Aaron Hartley. I had just experienced an, over 2 year, very ugly,expensive divorce and found I was being sued for Contempt of Court . Aaron spoke with me on that call which changed everything . Wow, what a waste of time! I called and made an appointment and told them I just had some questions on the process my divorce was going through. My appointment was at 10:30. He was running late and didn't get back to the office from court until about 10:55. They did apologize for running late but when he did talk to me about 11:35 while he was on hold with a the court he told me he didn't have time to go over the process with me since he had to be in court soon. I didn't expect free legal advice, I understand he is trying to run a business. He then referred me to some website which I didn't get. I told the person I initially talked with who setup the appointment that this is what I was needing the appointment for but I guess appointments for non-clients are not a priority. Very rude and unprofessional experience.

WE WERE FORCED TO HIRE ANOTHER ATTORNEY TO FILE THANKFULLY THINGS ARE GREAT NOW. Mr. Hartley took advantage of me because I was based in another city over 200 miles away. I met with Mr. Hartley after being referred to him by a co-worker. He claims to have reasonable fees and I found that his were actually higher than most other reputable lawyers. I liked how intense he was because I wanted my husband to be intimidated by him but after he smoked in his office (and didn't seem to mind that I was pregnant) and was unprofessional was swearing and such, I decided not to go with him as my divorce lawyer. About a month ago, I saw that he was arrested for public intoxication at a bar in The Greene for choking a woman out. I do not recommend this practice.
