Initially things start good to get you in the door and pay your money. Once you go to court they become non-responsive and you almost have to harass them to get a response. I currently have a lawsuit with a creditor after filing bankruptcy. Sent all the information to the Steinkamp office and now no one will respond to me. I am having to pay more money to another attorney to get the job done right! Referred someone to the Steinkamp office and never got the referral fee I was told would happen either. Save your $$ and go elsewhere. The follow up they promise is non-existent and extremely unprofessional once your case is finalized they have your $.

First thang is most people filing bankruptcy don’t have much money I wouldn’t assume and I think it’s crazy if you don’t have the whole 1300 dollars up front they make you pay 1900 that a 600 dollar upcharge plus I was told we get a 1200 dollar promise we will get to keep 300 dollars and didn’t then said if we make under 2500 on are taxes we should get to keep it made 671 didn’t get to keep it just fill like I was lied to and they made us fill secure at first once we gave them the 475 down payment it went down hill felt very tooken advantage of

I lost my job and my husband and I were splitting up. This meant that I was losing the double income that I depended on to pay bills. I ended up in debt and bill collectors began to send me letters and court dates for them to sue me began to pile in.

I found John's office by luck. I called and was greeted by a friendly voice of his paralegal on the other line. A meeting was set up for me to come in.

The day of the meeting I brought my paperwork with me. John took the time to review it and determined that some of those nasty bill collectors were violating laws. His office filed suit against the bill collectors and won, which resulted in some money back into my pocket.

I also needed to file bankruptcy. John and his office were extremely helpful and kept me informed every step of the way. The bankruptcy process was painless and I attribute that to this office's professionalism and efficiency.

I filed bankruptcy in late 2011....I thought everything was fine until last summer when I went to buy a car and I found out that none of my mortgage payments were being reported to the credit bureaus therefore I was denied credit due to lack of credit. So I made some phone calls and I found out that the reaffirmation papers never made it back to the bank. The bank said they sent it out certified mail. I contacted Johns office and spoke with I believe her name was Norma....she told me that the bank never sent it out and most of the time they lie about sending it and that I should call the credit agencies...which I did and that was a dead end. My next move was I went into the office and John gave me all of about 2 minutes....he looked at the papers I had and said " They lied they never sent the papers" and walked away.
From what I understand it is in the banks best interest to send the reaffirmation papers to the attorney because if they don't and we default on the payments they have no recourse....in other words...they can't collect from us...so why would they not send the papers.
The way I see it is this....I paid him to represent me and he didn't do his job....HE should have made sure those papers were in my packet...if they weren't all he had to do is call the bank and they would have faxed them over immediately.
So....I am filing a complaint with the bar association and with the attorney generals office.

John is very nice and wonderful to work with. He really knows what he is doing. The whole staff is very friendly and ready to help out whenever you have a question or a problem. They even offer help after your bankruptcy is over with different things. I highly recommend this law firm.
