This place is a joke! First, the receptionist who answered was not very friendly and answered like I was bothering her. When I told her about my case she wanted me to call back the following week. When I did she told me they couldn't help me!! Seriously! If you can't help people why do you even pretend!

This place offers free legal services for people who have no to low income.
Phone lines open at 9:30am. They operate on a first come first served basis by appointment only. After randomly called them, it took me a 2 weeks to get an appointment.
I learned that they do not order copies of cases files, so you're need to make sure you bring your own copies. They also don't receive documents via fax or email. So, if you get an appointment, be ready with all the information pertaining to your case and things will work out more efficiently.
The office is very clean and only people with appointments will be seen. The building does have full-time law enforcement on duty.

Didn't take long 2 get appt or called in 2 see attorney who by the way was really informed & when he wasn't Jon was very quick 2 look things up & come back with the info. Unfortunately for what I needed he had 2 refer me to different organization of which he copied info so that I could contact that office.

Nobody dealing with employment law but referrals given to firms that do. Called them and redirected to another office. No call back 48 hours later.

If u inherit something then they can't help you because that's technically you having something. So you really don't even own it yet but you will so that's you having something. Even if your poor. It sucks. They couldn't help me

I love the idea of such agencies there to help families and individuals that fall short or can't afford legal help, however in my case I've visited this office numerous times seeking legal help and was always just given advice,,which in result led me to loose my case going into court trusting the advice given..best advice never go into court without representation,, I am still fighting this battle I'm aware some cases can be stressful,,so good luck and blessings to those that are choosen

Yes who told my husband he couldn't get his rights Terminated I hope you know I can get it done cause I got enough DCS reports and he can't support my son let along him taking care of his self he is disabled. If someone does not take that case I am going higher up to get it done its ridiculous on this. My spouse can not adopted my he is too old and don't tell me he still can I done read up on adoption laws he almost 15 and in Indiana it's til 14 to adopt the HOR has been notified and the ADC Office on your attorneys is getting notified the stepfather should have never been allowed to adopt him cause he has an intellectual disorder which no one said anything on that in 2009 either. He has DCS reports also don't tell me or the stepfather no one can't get nothing done when they can I will go all the way too the HOR in front of there board and get the law changed and then you will have too terminate them then.

These guys dont answer questions either without at least 10 bucks. More time wasted!

Hotel area, casino and stand alone restaurants looked nice but the buffet appearance and food were terrible. They could really use a cleaning and remodeling. They can afford to shutdown for a vouple of months for an overhaul.

I try calling every time they say to call, every time they say no more appts call back next day or next week! Last week they said call back next week, yesterday they said call back today (Tuesday) for a Thursday appt. I asked her what time to call, she said after 10am, so I called at 10 am & by the time the pushing buttons & recordings for me to get to her it was 10:02 am. She said no more appointments??? I said how can that be? She said they were taken already? But you told me to call at 10 am & I did. I've been trying since last week. Then she said she wasn't only one doing scheduling, the attorneys did also! I don't understand if yesterday you had appointments for Thursday but couldn't give one to me yesterday & I call back today as directed & then you say no appointments for Thursday. You tell me to call back tomorrow at 10 am for Friday appts. Last week when I called on Tuesday you said you had no appointments for the week to call back this week on Monday. I don't understand last week she said don't call every day & this week she tells me to call everyday. My situation is dire. I need help that's why I'm calling. I can't wait, but I don't have any choice. I'm going to end up in court without legal representation. Maybe the judge will be merciful & Grant a continuance when I show my call log with dates & length of time on call & this review. Then at least the judge will know I'm really trying to get a lawyer. I've seen they place a standard response to reviews! They are not individually tailored review replies. Look i used this service around 10 years ago. They got me in & talked for a couple minutes & then referred to a lawyer who did my case. So it worked before. But this set up for appointments is not proper. If she has appts for Friday & I'm a client in need why can't she make me an appointment for Friday today when I'm on the phone? Last week someone made appts for whole week by the time I called on Tuesday so why can't they make all the appts. When people need a lawyer we are already stressed. Then when they have to keep calling every day every week at 10 am this effects their mental health.

Definitely seems like some discrimination is being practiced here. The secretary is the main culprit of such and it’s evident by her exemplifying some of the rudest behavior that I’ve ever dealt with in any for profit or non-for profit Government branch or privately funded branch of services offered here in the state of Indiana. I’ve been told for almost a month to call back next week and on this day when I called (by the way I was told to call back *today a week previously) I was told that the secretary stepped out of the office for a couple of hours and everything got booked up while she was gone from her desk. She was not polite AT ALL, and she did not give me any insight on what day next week would be the most appropriate day to try. I mentioned to her that things are seeming kind of borderline discriminatory at this point in part due by her rude demeanor and the fact that help seemed so far and few. Her immediate response was “oh no, not another one! Oh God Here We Go Again!“ I was shocked! I just don’t understand why people like this are in these kind of places where they are supposed to be helpful to all citizens and people abroad. It seems like I’ve encountered a lot of this kind of conduct in Indianapolis when dealing with state and local government offices. She hung up on me shortly after this while I still had another question left for her so then I called back. Finally I asked for her name and she refused to provide it. She stated “I don’t give my personal name out over the phone.”
Yeah, there is definitely something weird going on up there that I can’t quite put my finger on. But nonetheless here I am a tax paying citizen in the state of Indianapolis, Indiana that still can’t find help with my legal situation that I can’t afford. Shame, shame, shame on these folks here! And I most definitely will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and the attorney generals office as well because governing entities need to be enlightened about organizations like these that may not be for the people when that is supposed to be their main civic duty and purpose.

IF YOU ARE BLACK DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!! They don’t like people of color and it’s evident from the moment you walk through the door!!! The receptionist is rude and not welcoming. The worst experience I’ve ever had. You have to pay ten dollars for them to tell you they can’t help you. The wait time to get someone on the phone is at least an hour. Then when you finally talk to someone they say “we can’t schedule your appointment today call back next week” I did that for three week before finally taking off work to talk to Madonna who could not care less about my Negro problems!! Lol it’s truly a joke. But if you’re white you probably will be right in their eyes!! I told her I didn’t want to spend my entire savings on a lawyer and her response was “well your kid is pretty important” like that wasn’t the reason I wa sin her office! Her attitude is condescending, discriminatory, and just all out rude! Don’t volunteer Madonna if it’s not in your heart to help EVERYONE REGARDLESS OF RACE, sexual orientation and so on......
