They demand you to pay for services you never even used. Their communication skills are not the best. And when you ask them for proof of what you owe or the customer agreement, they hesitate to send you the information.

I know no one likes to receive calls like this, but I feel like there is a certain human touch that is required. I would rather have spoken with a bot tbh, because no one at this company seems to have any humanity. I spoke with Courtney, explained this was an old medical debt from 2012 and I needed more information which she did not have. She then proceeded to call me every day demanding payment even though she did not prove adequate proof of my debt when requested. I think there is a law about this or something... but I am no lawyer. Maybe she should have asked someone who works for a law firm... oh wait. Damn. That's embarrassing for you guys.

I got a call from them about a collections that I thought I paid. There was a mixup and after All parties trying to figure it out The payment was not received so I had to take care of the collections which is no issue. Well while everybody was trying to figure it out. Both myself and the firm knew we were trying to get to the bottom of it. While that was all going on which took a while to get with insurance and everything they were racking up interest on me and did not tell me so my bill was beyond higher. Also the lady that I talk to you I believe her name was Brittany is Probably the most unprofessional, rude person I’ve ever dealt with.

I set up payments coming from my HSA each month. I look at my account statement and see no money has been taken out. I call and I get told well now it's in the legal department... Um, why? I did my part and set up a payment plan.
Now, they want the money up front or they are going to serve me papers for no paying? Thank god I CHECKED my account for make sure payment were coming out cause you can't trust them.
Good news I have every call recorded so when they take this further they will see that I have done my part and it wasn't my side lacking.

I owed a past due bill. Usually collection agencies are very unpleasant. This company was very helpful and patient and allowed me to make two payments on the large balance that I owed. No hassle. Lots of different payment options. Nice customer service. I paid a little interest but I guess that’s expected.

I would give them ZERO starts if I could. I don’t have the funds to pay off a past due bill so they tell me to borrow money from someone. I paid a payment once telling them that they can’t pull out of my bank account in the future but they still do. They are very disrespectful talking to me and hanging up on me mid sentence.
I don’t know how they aren’t shut down after how many horrible reviews they’ve received.

We moved and after taking the power bill out of our name we must have missed one payment.
I was contacted by one of the Cherrington phone representatives and had an awful experience. She was very aggressive, very condescending, and frequently referenced information she had that she assumed I should know. (IE: interest rate on collection, legal requirements they were held to in communicating with me etc.)
I get that they are here to just get money and probably talk to a lot of grumpy people, but being rude, aggressive and trying to put people down is never ok.

They were fair and reasonable in resolving my account and Candy was an absolute pleasure to work with!

I was afraid to call this place back today because of all the negative reviews, but my experience was extremely pleasant. They spoke to me very, very nicely. I had a city power bill overdue and the convenience fee was $6. Done and done. Kandy was extremely easy to work with and just so nice to me. It's as good as you can hope for from a collections agency.

Same as the rest of these, I was never notified. Maybe once or twice within the 3 years of my oustanding debt. While they were just adding interest to my account. I don't see how this is even legal!!

I didn't ever get notified that my medical bill was sent to them. I got a bill stating they was collecting interest. On a damn medical bill that was $54. They charged me $6 just to make the payment. These people are crooks and theifs.

This is the worst and dumbest company EVER!!! I had a minor bill that they gladly over then doubled it. They lied and said they tried to call me and contact me. But they don't show any record of contact. And now they are threatening and trying to go after my wife. STUPID AND WORTHLESS PEOPLE WORK THERE!!!!!!!!!

I owed them $2,700 and foolishly gave my bank account information after which they tried to take $8,000. They succeeded in getting half that from my bank so good luck to me getting the other $1,300 back.

If I could give this place a zero I would. They will try to charge you for stuff you already paid for.

Candy is extremely harsh she has no human touch and she didn't care it was Christmas and knowing that I won't have any money for Christmas she still went ahead and took my Christmas money away and refused to give more time or lower the amount on $78.00 so we can have small gifts for my kids to open and a small dinner I asked Candy to please talk to Lacey M Cherington or Kelly J. Balwin to see if they can give me more time and she said they would not work with me.
How can you do this job and sleep at night?
This is how our conversation ended, candy said: I know is hard not to have money for Christmas but this has nothing to do with me I have other things to take care of.

Incredibly dishonest. Wrongfully sent me to debt collections for services I paid for. I finally had to reach out to the FTC to see any progress.

Sent me a bill for debt I already paid for. I have A+ credit and tried to fight. Not sure how this happens....and why is this happening to so many people?

I was completely lied to by Amy and Jade at this firm. They take advantage of the "little guy" and people who actually want to work with them. Good luck to anyone who has to work with them.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. These people have been harassing my son for tow fees on a vehicle that he sold nearly a year ago. It was towed after he sold it. The person he sold it to never registered it. He has proof that the vehicle was sold months before it was towed. He is a 20 year-old kid just starting out, and they're trying to get him to pay $3500 for something he didn't have anything to do with.

Worked out a payment arrangement with this company for about $100 month. Lo and behold, this morning I wake up to them trying to filtch over $2000 from me. Do not make payment arrangements with this company.

These guys suck. Not helpful at all. Called to pay the debt and was told to contact the constables office. I asked Jade why, and was told "because you need to contact them"..

Worst experience ever!

Just called and they were very helpful. I'm an idiot and forgot to pay a bill, so by law, I was charged. Can't complain about the service though. I paid what I could today and they are working with me for future payments. The lady I spoke to understand that we are people and forget things sometimes.

If I could give them a "0" I would they dont deserve One dam star! How dare you have my 12 yr old sign court papers while I am at work that is illegal and harrassment of my child! I am speaking to a supervisor tomorrow!! The nerve of you people you should be ashamed!!!!!

Spoke with JADE about a medical bill that they want to.collect on. Services were given but I never received a bill! Or a phone call! JADE also told me...And this is word for word, that it is NOT HER RESPONAIBILITY TO WALK ME THROUGH THE PAERWORK AND EXPLAIN IT TO ME. actually, because I am not in the legal line of work, and you filed the skins, it IS your job to translate it for me.

In 2011 they called me saying I had an account for an internet service that was past due. I had never opened an account with this internet service provider. It was opened in 2004 while I was on a mission to Italy. I decided to pay the 75.00 to avoid it going to collections. Today I received another call saying there was still 7.00 remaining. I don't understand how that is possible, when I was told I was paying it in full in 2011. They are such a scam. It was a 6.00 fee just to pay over the phone.

This has been one of the most frustrating situations I have ever had in dealing with a company.

My wife had a $20 co-pay collection that was immediately paid upon notification. Once it was paid, I contacted The Cherrington Firm 8 times over 7 months, requesting a letter from them stating that our account was paid in full.

I still do not have this letter and have been given many excuses as to why:

1. Our system is having issues.
2. The letter has to be sent by a manager.
3. It was sent, must have been lost in the mail.

Completely unacceptable. I will be notifying the Better Business Bureau to file an official complaint.

MedUSA (on behalf of Medallus Medical) sent my account to this horrible attorney's office even though I let them know several times that I was appealing my bill. I spoke to Kim. She was very rude and wouldn't even listen to anything I had to say. They are just out to get money.

This young attorney is wet behind the ears. She does not follow proper procedures and is able to skirt the law to make her money. Failed to let me know there was a court case, then further failed to let me know she was garnishing my wages. Found out 2 days before it happened.

This place is only interested in collecting your money. I was sued by a medical facility for services they never gave me. Cherrington took the case anyway, and refused to negotiate. I had to get my own attorney and ended up paying thousands of dollars of their attorney fees for services I never got.

This company is ATROCIOUS! Their staff are very unprofessional, rude and have absolutely no respect for anyone they engage with. If you have any business with this company watch out! They will want your first born child and then some!!
